1. Introducing the brand-new SEOprofiler interface

Quick and easy access to all tools

With the new user interface, you can access all tools and all sub pages of the tools from all pages. Select a category in the menu on the left and then choose the page that you want to view:

Support at your fingertips

The project menu in the menu bar at the top enables you to quickly access your projects. The user menu in the top bar enables you to manage your account and the help menu offers quick access to all important help pages. Of course, the pages in SEOprofiler also offer help pages that are directly related to the selected tool:

The new SEOprofiler interface makes it even easier than before to work with the powerful tools in SEOprofiler. If you have a small monitor, you can use the button in the top left corner of the new interface to minimize the menu.

What's next?

The next big item on our to-do list is a much improved backlink analysis system that will give you access to the freshest backlinks on the Internet. The new backlink database will be a major leap that will help you to dramatically improve the backlinks of your website.

"On Twitter, Google’s Matt Cutts announced the release of another Penguin update. The Penguin 2.1 update is the fifth update to the algorithm since the initial Penguin launch."

The growing divide between paid search & marketing

"Today, the marketing aspects are all but gone from paid search. [...] We have automated, generic, blanket listings that are quite often less creative and targeted than yellow page listings.

We have brands whose entire goal has shifted from marketing their brand and product to simply trying to protect it from JoeSchmo.com, who has no product and no brand, but does have a terribly designed site that simply consists of more ads for you to click on."

John MuellerGoogle: server location is mostly irrelevant for SEO

In an online discussion, Google's John Mueller said that the geographic location of a web server is mostly irrelevant for SEO:

"From a usability point of view, having a really fast site is awesome -- and like others mentioned, sometimes local hosting (or local CDNs) can help there.

For search, specifically for geotargeting, the server's location plays a very small role, in many cases it's irrelevant. If you use a ccTLD or a gTLD together with Webmaster Tools, then we'll mainly use the geotargeting from there, regardless of where your server is located. You definitely don't need to host your website in any specific geographic location -- use what works best for you."

Google’s Matt Cutts: no more PageRank updates this year
"Google’s head of search spam, Matt Cutts, said on Twitter yesterday that Google won’t be pushing out a new Google Toolbar PageRank update this year. [...]

It has now been 8 months since the last Google Toolbar PageRank update. In fact, the last update was on February 4, 2013 and honestly, I think PageRank is finally dead – at least the Toolbar PageRank."
