1. 21 things that we have done for you in 2014
If you want to succeed with your website, you need leading-edge tools. That's why we update and improve SEOprofiler so often. In 2014, we've released many new features and improvements that help you to get things done as efficiently as possible. Here's an overview:

21 things that we have done for you

February 2014: much better link analysis, disavow links, competitor spy
1. A much better link analysis tool with advanced features
In February 2014, we released our new backlink analysis tool. The backlink analysis tool finds 40x more backlinks than before.

In addition, the new link analysis tool gives you access to more backlinks than other tools, you get comprehensive filters and you get more backlinks than with other link tools.

On average, SEOprofiler finds 238% more links than Moz' popular OpenSiteExplorer.
2. A powerful link disinfection tool
The year 2014 has shown that negative SEO is a sad reality. Your competitors can harm your website by creating low quality links that point to your site.

In February 2014, we introduced the new link disinfection tool. The link disinfection tool discovers harmful backlinks that point to your website and it enables you to create a 'disavow links' file for Google.

With the link disinfection tool in SEOprofiler, you can protect your website from negative SEO.
3. Faster competitor spy tools
In February 2014, we also improved the competitor spy tools in SEOprofiler. We streamlined the user interface of these tools and we dramatically improved the performance.

The competitor spy tools in SEOprofiler enable you to spy on the Google AdWords campaigns and on the Google rankings of your competitors. Find out for which keywords your competitors advertise, which ads they use, etc.

In Q1/2015, we'll release a much improved version of the competitor spy tools that will give you even more information about the SEO and SEM campaigns of your competitors.
4. Daily backlink notifications
February 2014 was a very busy month. We also added daily backlink notifications. Whenever our web crawlers find new links that point to your website, you will get an email notification (a maximum of one email per day). Of course, you can stop these messages if you do not want them.

March 2014: hub finder, free ink analysis, weekly opportunities
5. A better hub finder tool helps you to get related backlinks
The new hub finder tool helps you to get high quality backlinks from related websites. In March 2014, we released a new version of the popular hub finder tool.

Hub pages are pages that link to several of your competitors. Getting links from hub pages is important because these links show search engines that your website is related to a particular topic.

6. A new version of the free link analysis tool OpenLinkProfiler.org
In March 2014, we also released a new version of our free link analysis tool OpenLinkProfiler.org.

The new version offers many more filters that make it even easier to find particular links. You also get even more backlinks. OpenLinkProfiler.org quickly became one of the most popular free link analysis tools.

We also published a new bookmarklet that enables you to analyze backlinks while surfing the web.

7. More weekly link opportunities
March 2014 also brought an update of the weekly link opportunities. The weekly link opportunities in SEOprofiler help you to discover new websites that could link to your site. We search for new link opportunities, you pick the best.

April 2014: even more white-label SEO reports
8. White-label backlink reports for your clients
In April 2014, we added white-label backlink reports to SEOprofiler. Just like all of the other reports in SEOprofiler, the new backlink analysis reports have no reference to SEOprofiler and your clients will think that you made the reports for them.

The new reports are available as PDF reports (that can be scheduled) and as web-based reports.

May 2014: improved analytics reports, new social media analysis
9. Website analytics now with top performing ads
The website analytics reports now show your top performing campaigns. Find out how many visitors you get through an ad, how many conversions the ad creates, and how much you earned with an ad.

10. Social media analysis with white-label reports
We also published a new social media performance checker and the new global social trends tool in May 2014. Both tools can help you to improve the performance of your website on social websites.

We also added social media reports to the white-label SEO reports in SEOprofiler.

June 2014: monitor social networks for your keywords and protect your online reputation
11. Introducing the social media inbox monitor
In June 2014, we added the new social media inbox monitor to SEOprofiler. The social media inbox monitor in SEOprofiler enables you to keep track of conversations about your company and your products on social networks.

Is someone talking about your company on the Internet? Are there positive or negative reviews about your products? The social media inbox in SEOprofiler helps you to react as quickly as possible.

13. SEOprofiler now supports multi-user accounts
Multi-user support was on the top of the wish-list of many users. Since July 2014, you can work with your team on your SEOprofiler projects. The multi-user access feature in SEOprofiler enables you to assign different projects and different tools to different people.

You can also mix the permissions, i.e. employee John can access the link building and the optimization pages in projects X, whereas Steve can access the optimization pages and the ranking monitor in projects X and Y, etc.

August 2014: the German version of SEOprofiler
14. SEOprofiler now available in German
In addition to the English version, SEOprofiler is now available in German. Of course, the German version offers the same features as the English version.

September 2014: website audits with spell check, improved ranking monitor
15. Website audit tool now with spell check feature
In September 2014, we improved the website audit tool in SEOprofiler. In addition to the technical issues (duplicate content, HTML errors, broken links, etc.), the website audit tool now also finds spelling mistakes on your web pages.

16. Ranking monitor with keyword groups and new filters
We also improved the ranking monitor in September. You can filter your rankings by keyword groups and many other filters that enable you to find the right keywords as quickly as possible.

October 2014: local ranking checks, ranking export, custom reports
17. Ranking checks from 85,262 locations in 49 countries
Since October 2014, the ranking monitor in SEOprofiler supports all 85,262 locations that are officially supported by Google. The new ranking monitor enables you to see exactly the same search results that your customers get when they search from their location.

18. Export your ranking data
You can also export your ranking data as CSV since October. This enables you to create your own reports and your own visualizations with spreadsheet applications such as MS Excel or LibreOffice.

2. Search engine news and articles of the week
Google Pigeon update rolls out to UK, Canada & Australia
"Google has confirmed that their local Pigeon update, which rolled out in the U.S. on July 24, 2014 has now expanded over last week to the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. [...]

Google added today [...] that they are still rolling this out and it now goes beyond just the UK, Canada and Australia. This update is being rolled out to all English-speaking locales except India."

GoogleCitation inconsistency is no.1 issue affecting local ranking

"Inconsistent citation and NAP (Name, Address, Phone) data is by far the most common issue at 41%. Duplicate Google Places/+Local listings is the 2nd most common issue at 27%. Google Places Guideline Violations is the least common issue, with just 4% of respondents counting this among their most common issues."

Online Q3 ad revenues reach historic high of $12.4 billion

"Yesterday the IAB released an interim report saying that US online advertising reached an historic high of $12.4 billion for Q3. Ad revenues in the first half of 2013 totaled roughly $23 billion.

It’s likely that Q4 online advertising will come in around $14 billion. If so that would mean the full year 2014 would be worth roughly $50 billion. Last year online ad spending reached roughly $42.8 billion."

Google AdWordsGoogle AdWords introduces 'store visits' metric

"This feature has been carefully designed to keep data private and secure. We never provide anyone’s actual location to advertisers. Instead, store visits are estimates based on aggregated, anonymized data from a sample set of users that have turned on Location History. This data is then extrapolated to represent the broader population."

Will people ever buy through social media?
"Many analysts still doubt that Facebook and Twitter will prove to be major e-commerce players. As general interest networks, the thinking is that most people go there for reasons other than shopping. And history is damning.

As Chris Dixon, an investor at Andreessen Horowitz, explained the failure of Facebook stores in 2012: 'Facebook is like Starbucks where everyone hangs out but no one ever buys anything.'"
